Product
Ethan Allen, born September 2, 1808 died January 7, 1871. In April 1833 Ethan Allen and his father Nathaniel, bought the Moses Adams farm at Grafton, Massachusetts, then known as New England Village. The property of about 135 acres and with buildings was purchased for $5,000. At this time, Ethan was making cutlery for the shoemaking industry. Allen built his own shop for the production of pistols during 1833.

Biographical references state that Roger N. Lambert's Cane Gun were manufactured at the Ethan Allen' manufactury. It would be the earliest gun manufactured by Allen.

Bemong the first firearms known having been produced and marked by Allen was the underhammer saw-handle Pocket Rifle. In fact it's not a rifle but a single shot pistol with a longer than usual barrel. This pistol was designed in 1836.

.28 to 44 caliber percussion, single shot, rifled 12" barrel, saw-handle grip, produced from 1837 to 1847.
